Press Play

This is only the second piece in my six word memoir series. If you still have yet to discover six word memoirs, I suggest you google it.

I am absolutely in love with these stories. We waste so much time talking, trying to explain ourselves when it can all be said in six little words.

Anyone who knows me knows I'm not the best at communicating. My ideas always get jumbled and mixed up among the ruins of utter non-sense. I think my real problem is the fact that I have so many thoughts and ideas flowing through my mind at any one given time that I find it hard to stop the carousel and pick one.

So through this series, I hope to create a mix tape of expressions that will help me to weed out the junk and just get to the point.

Shoe Tossing

I think this is where I part ways with these particular work. I tried so hard to add other images when it turned out that anything else took away from the focal point.

I've done some research on shoe tossing and I still have no idea what it means. On the lighter side, it could mean an adolescent rite of passage like graduating. On the darker side, it could signify a death and that these specific shoes belong to the deceased. Other explanations include the location of a crack house, practical jokes, and just human instinct to leave their mark.

Whatever myth you choose to believe in, the bottom line is that only the shoe thrower knows why they are hanging upon the wires.

It is this simple idea that intrigues me most.

Untitled Work in Progress

This is the result of day two with the shoes. It is an extremely irritating picture. Is it done? I have no clue.

The color scheme is directly inspired by a copy of Dirty Dancing on my desk.

Untitled Work in Progress

I took this picture earlier this afternoon during a walk on Yonge Street. I seem to be using a lot of blue shades lately. Not sure if this will be the final color scheme but that's what it is as of now.

I don't know where to go from here and I'm sick of staring at it.
