Burton's Blue Boy

Burton's Blackberry

Today I saw the Tim Burton exhibit for the second time. Even though there was no flash photography allowed, I snuck a few with my blackberry. I was quite intrigued to see how my style would translate with the lower resolution photos. In the end it turn out half bad.

However I don't feel as proud as I would had they been original photos. The fact that I am using Burton's shapes takes a bit away from my authenticity but what can you do? The main image is of the shadows from a couple sculptures. I've always loved the look of shadows and so when I saw these bizarre shapes reflected on the wall I just couldn't leave it alone. I had a friend cover me as I went it for the shot and I'm glad I got it.

My Untitled Business Card

This is my first try at creating a business card. I used several of my previous designs for the background but they didn't really work. So I ended up going with a very old image. The Red Bull can is one of the first images I created when I started this endeavor. It's actually the only piece from that time that I don't cringe over.

A Temporary Titled Clock

"SAVE THE CLOCK TOWER"

This might be finished. I'm going to step away and come back with fresh eyes.

Untitled Business Card

A long time friend gave me the opportunity to design her business card. This would be the result of my first session. I have until Monday to finish it so that gives me plenty of time to find a texture (although I'm leaning towards not using any) and an image to go in the right hand corner.

I'm excited by the concept except I'm not sure if the "100%"'s will make it to the final cut.

We'll see.

Untitled Clock Photo

"UNTITLED"

This is something I started late last night. I'm really pleased with it thus far. My problem right now is the question of what to put in the center of it. It's one of those things where I have an alarm go off in my gut when I get it right. Having said that, I'm not quite there yet. Though I really like it at this point and can only imagine my feelings when it's done.

Who knows what this will evolve into. But I'm psyched.

A Titled Bird Photo

"BIRDS OF A FEATHER"

I changed the focus point in this picture. I previously had the image of Alfred Hitchcock as a clear reference to his film "The Birds". But something wasn't right. Eventually I had to give Hitchcock the shaft. He just wasn't working. Perhaps because he made the piece too simple. There wouldn't be much depth to it at all.

The great thing about putting in the power lines is the lines themselves. They bring a slight darkness throughout which justifies the bold image of the pole. Other darkened images seemed out of left field and didn't blend in. Now it all seems to make sense.

A Titled Birds Photo

"They're Coming."

This is what I have been working on for the last few days. Not sure if it's finished. I added text and it seemed like too much. But text removed felt like too little.

Conundrum...

Untitled Deadline Thought

Yesterday was the second deadline for my recent photo project. The category was the color green and I had two photos ready to submit.

I completely forgot.

Shit.
